Detoxification Centers
Detoxification (Detox) is the process by which the human body rids itself of all alcohol or drugs. This process is best done in a controlled, clinical environment often under the supervision of a physician. Medically-Assisted Treatment (MAT) is undergone to prevent severe withdrawal symptoms in cases of exceptional chemical dependency. Suboxone, Vivitrol, Naltrexone, and Methadone are example of MAT's utilized to alleviate pain and discomfort while recovering from opioid addiction.
Oconee County currently does not offer intensive inpatient Detoxification. Neighboring counties have available facilities, but should be contacted prior to travel to ensure eligibility.

Substance Abuse Rehabilitation Programs
Substance Abuse Rehabilitation Centers are specialist facilities whose primary mission is to assist in the process of recovery via proven methods in cognitive behavioral therapy and trauma informed care. Clients are provided with the tools and skills needed to identify dangerous processes in order to achieve long term recovery.
These facilities are often provided as a community alternative to long-term incarceration, and vary greatly in length of program and cost for treatment.
