Transitional Housing

Oconee County has multiple options for those seeking TRANSITIONAL HOUSING. Institutions equipped to facilitate post-rehab recovery and secondary life-skills education in a stable community housing environment are considered transitional housing. These programs often provide temporary conditional residency based on a myriad of eligibility requirements.

Emergency Shelters

Emergency Shelters are either permanently established facilities providing limited sheltering services (often 8pm to 8am in a community living environment), or make-shift converted spaces such as churches or schools addressing environmental safety concerns (i.e. outside temperatures falling below 36 degrees F, massive storms, extended power outages, etc.).

Oconee County currently (March 2024, as of this writing) does NOT have a permanently established Emergency Shelter, but does have converted spaces utilized during hazardous environmental conditions.

Also, neighboring counties have multiple options available for those in need.

Please consult the table below for available known Emergency Shelters in the Upstate (Contact the facility prior to referral in order to ensure availability and eligibility)
